Homework for this week is changed as students will be doing final work on “Boo”ographies.
Outside reading is cut in half. No problem solving for the week. Math 4 Today test will be on Thursday this week. Finish up all “Boo”ography assignments.
We still have several students out sick in our class. We are doing a massive hand washing in our class to help the rest of us stay healthy.
Check our Math section to see what is going on in Math right now. Also, check the Homework section to see what the weekly homework is. This section is updated weekly. Remember…there are some “Boo”ography deadlines coming up this week and next week. If your child is out sick, this is a way you can keep up with the some of the assignments.
What a great turn out for our Fall Family Math Night! My station was the “Puff Mobile” station. WOW! Did we ever have a lot of girls build “Puff Mobiles.” The top winner in the race was Kayley who took first place in the Puff Mobile Races. Kayley is new to Arcadia and a member of our class. Way to go Kayley and her co-builder, her dad. Second place went to Elli’s sister Lily, a third grader and third place went to Natasha a fourth grader. Way to go girls! Adah won the Snickers in the estimating jar with the correct estimation of 38. Hope to see all of you in the Spring for our second “Family Math” Night.
FAMILY Math Tuesday. This and much, much more! Hot Dog Dinner at 5:30. Math at 6:00.
Too many students struggled with the last two M4T tests. We are going to try to work on the skills, before we continue.
NEW Reading HOMEWORK: As students read, they are to be looking for 5 new and interesting words. This is part of our “Expand Vocabulary” lessons. Each child has a 4 X 7 note card to record their five new words. Those wanting to achieve a four must do 10 new words. Students must spell the word correctly and find a meaning for it that fits with how it is used in their story.
I hope to see all of you at “Family Math Night” Tuesday, October 6th. Come build a “Family Puff Mobile”, a Straw Tower, participate in the “Metrics Olympics, as well as many other fun math games. Dinner at 5:30. Puff Mobile races at 7:00.
