Week of November 2nd…
Many of your children are coming to school each week with either incomplete homework or no homework. It is important for your children to take responsibility by both completing and returning their homework. Each year in school the homework becomes more and more important.
- Reading Homework…The 5th grade requirement is to read 100 minutes each week…(I had been doing 80 minutes.) As they read they are to be “Tuning in to Interesting Words.” Directions and scoring are listed below. Expand Vocabulary has been added to their weekly reading requirement. Students have a 4 by 6 note card that they are to fill out during the week. To get a ‘3′ they must find 5 intersting words and write the meanings. To get a ‘4′ they must find 10 words. Spelling and penmanship are important also.
